- The 11th Arthur Rubinstein International Piano Master Competition will be held from 28th March to 14th April 2005 .
- The Competition is open to pianists of all nationalities; applicants shall be between 18 and 32 years of age.
- The enclosed Application Form should be accompanied by:
a) a birth certificate;
b) a curriculum vitae, which should include details of musical activity;
c) published references, including reviews,
press releases, etc.;
d) copies of documents indicating prizes/awards in other international competitions;
e) three 9 x 12 cm glossy black and white photographs suitable for reproduction;
f) certificate of studies, including grades and names
of teachers;
g) letter/s of recommendation from candidates' current or most recent institution of musical studies or teacher;
h) letters from musicians of international standing, specifically recommending participation in the 11th Arthur Rubinstein Competition;
i) a receipt indicating that the non-refundable fee of US$100 has been remitted to the Arthur Rubinstein Society Account No. 60452/67, Bank Leumi Le'Israel, Heichal Hatarbut branch (809);

Applicants are advised to AIRMAIL all documents to the address indicated on the Application Form.
Latest postmark date on envelope to be: 1st October 2004 .
Translation into English of all documents will be greatly appreciated.

All applications will be screened by the Admissions Committee. Candidates who have studied with a Jury member at any time (not including Master Classes) in the three years preceding the Competition shall not be allowed to compete.
- All stages of the Competition will be open to the public.
- Competitors shall choose editions that adhere to the original text. All works must be performed from memory, except at the chamber music stage.
- Competitors shall play only those works which they have stated on the Application Form. No changes will be permitted.
- Repertoire
STAGE I: RECITAL
Duration of performance: 40-50 minutes
STAGE II: RECITAL (16 contestants)
Duration of performance: 50-60 minutes
The Competitor may choose the repertoire and decide the playing order of the recital programmes at Stage I and II, but must include, either at Stage I or Stage II, the following:
• A CLASSICAL work
• A ROMANTIC work
• An obligatory work by an ISRAELI COMPOSER
(duration 6-12 minutes)

Notes:
- Accurate timings of all works chosen must be indicated on the enclosed Application Form.
- Competitors must ensure that the time limits stipulated in the Competition Rules, Stages I and II, shall not be exceeded.
- Competitors who adhere to the given time limits will not be interrupted.
- The works may be performed with or without repeats, at the Competitor's discretion.
- No work shall be repeated at any stage of the Competition.
- Notification of admission to enter the Competition will be mailed to Competitors by 15th December 2004 together with copies of the Israeli composers' works, one of which must be chosen as an obligatory piece to be played by the Competitor.
- Notification of non-acceptance will also be mailed on the above date.
- All decisions of the Jury shall be final and beyond appeal.
- PRIZES
A total of six prizes will be awarded at the discretion of the Jury:
• 1st Prize: The Arthur Rubinstein Award - Competition Gold Medal designed by Pablo Picasso and $25,000.
• 2nd Prize: Competition Silver Medal and $15,000.
• 3rd Prize: Competition Bronze Medal and $10,000.
• 4th , 5th , and 6th Prizes - $3,000 each one.
A special grant of $500 will be given to each of the contestants who competed in Stage II but were not accepted to Stage III.
- Additional prizes, the "Audience Favourite" prize as well as engagements offered the prizewinners, will be announced in future publicity material and in the Competition programme.
All prize money is subject to tax under Israeli taxation laws.
- Concert and recording engagements
a) The Arthur Rubinstein Society is in the process of negotiating major recitals and orchestral engagements for the winners of the 2005 Competition, to be performed within the three-year period following the Competition.
b) A list of engagements will be published in the Competition programme brochure in 2005. Scheduling of these engagements will take into account any prior commitments of the winners.
c) During the three years following the Competition, winners may accept other engagements with prior consultation with the Arthur Rubinstein Society or its assignees or licensees.
d) Competitors that are already exclusively represented by official and/or commercial management prior to the Competition are requested to inform the Arthur Rubinstein Society about such agreements.
e) The Arthur Rubinstein Society and its assignees or licensees have the right and the possibility to assign one or more of the Competitors and/or finalists to participate in concerts and/or recordings.
The Society and its assignees or licensees at their own discretion, will have also the right to sign recording and/or concert representation agreements, with any of the Competitors and/or winners during the three-year period following the date of the Competition.
- Copyright
All stages of the Competition may be broadcast live or may be recorded and videotaped for subsequent broadcast, video, DVD, audio recording or any other format/media use. It is anticipated that CD recordings of selected Competition performances will be commercially produced, that a documentary of the Competition incorporating selected performances will be produced for television, and that parts or the whole Competition will be made available on the Internet. Camera crews may photograph all Competition events. Neither the Arthur Rubinstein Society nor its assignees or licensees may be held liable for any payments to pianists arising out of materials derived from Competition performances.
Competitors will undertake to honour this commitments No. 11 and No. 12 by signing the application form enclosed herein.

Accommodation
The Arthur Rubinstein Society will provide free board and lodging from two days prior to the commencement of Stage I through the period of official participation in the Competition.
The Competitors will be provided with practice facilities in their rooms
